Educate2Eradicate Launch Dinner

July 14, 2016

On the 14th July 2016 Educate2Eradicate launched at a fundraising dinner packed with lots of fun and entertainment, raising money for our cause!

Ella Purnell, Arifa Nasim and the whole E2E team were at the venue bright and early to prepare for the evening, decorating the hall at Frederick Bremer School and co-ordinating with all of their volunteers with John Pham recording all of our funny moments and behind the scenes footage!

Ella and Ruby were busy running rehearsals with the cast members of duty, all school children from three different schools in Waltham Forest.

By 6pm, everyone was in their black tie attire and ready to greet early guests at the drinks reception put together by Prudence Bevoir-Stephens.

The evening began with Charlotte Barbour - Condini, BBC Young Musician of the Year playing the best of Ludovico Einaudi on Piano to welcome our guests.

Followed by an introduction from Ella and the performance of Duty for our 150 guests.

The evening included speeches from Diana Nammi, IKWRO, Pragna Patel, Southall Black Sisters, Jenny Smith, Headteacher of Frederick Bremer and Arifa Nasim, Founder of Educate2Eradicate. Performances included Talia Janson and Ellie Rose, with the raffle drawn by Cel Spellman!

As the 14th July is Shafilea Ahmed's birthday, it was chosen to be the National Day of Memory for Honour Victims. We celebrated what would have been Shafilea Ahmed's 30th Birthday by inviting our special guests on stage.

With our auction and raffle, we raised over £7,000 on the evening. Here is a collection of our favourite highlights. With great thanks to John Pham for putting this together.
